The Cottage

A 450 square-foot, two-bedroom cottage with 9-foot ceilings, joined by its front porch to the rear gallery of the main house. It is booked to only one party at a time.

  • Front bedroom: queen-size tester bed; living area with couch, table and chairs, cedar chest, dresser and armoire
  • Back bedroom: circa 1850 Rococo rosewood full-size bed with a small sitting area
  • One private bath with a large step-in shower and sliding glass doors
  • Side foyer with piano and small refrigerator; second private entrance to a spacious sun deck

Each morning, guests are treated to a hot, full Southern breakfast served in the main house Dining Room on antique china, surrounded by 19th-century portraits of early Natchez ancestors of the Stone family.

A House Built for Music

The main house began as a private billiard hall built in the style of a Greek temple, with rare pocket doors of ornamental glasswork. Guests who stay a minimum of two nights are invited to a Soiree Musicale with live piano music in the Antebellum Music Room.

In the Stone Family for Generations

The builder was David Stanton, whose brother built world-famous Stanton Hall nearby. Acquired in 1877 by Joseph Newman Stone, the house has remained in the Stone family ever since, and the cottage grounds still show family portraits and antiques.

How do I check rates and book?

Is breakfast served?

Yes. A full Southern breakfast is served in the main house Dining Room each morning.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in time starts at 3:00 pm, check-out time 10:30 am.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy?

There is a non-refundable deposit collected for each booking. The deposit is applied as a credit on the invoice. Then the balance is collected at check-in. Five days cancellation notice is required to avoid complete charges including all taxes.

Is there a minimum stay?

Most weekends require a 2-night minimum when Friday or Saturday is booked.

How many guests can the cottage sleep?

Maximum occupancy four. The cottage is booked to only one party at a time.

Can children or pets stay?

Stone House does not accommodate children under the age of 14. No pets. No smoking.

How can I pay?

VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or cash are accepted.

Is the Soiree Musicale guaranteed?

Guests who stay a minimum of two nights are invited to the Soiree Musicale. The concert is not guaranteed for single night stays, late arrivals or last minute bookings.
